Femi-nazism

Feminazism- meet the evil twin sister of feminism. Feminism was created to bridge the gap between men and women with regard to human rights- to erase that gender gap and empower women to stand with men. But what happens when some people don’t draw the line- when some people start exercising the atrocities that the brave ladies of our past had to face on the men of today?

To be a feminazi means to believe in female supremacy, to use the label of feminism wrongly to ruin the reputation of a man or to demean men in order to empower females. The base spirit of feminism was to create the idea that we are born equal regardless of the bodies we take birth in. But in the steadily growing influence of new ideologies, in order to appear ‘liberal’ or ‘supportive’ of change, some people may not realise when things go too far. When they don’t realise the right and the wrong.

For those who may not know, a few days ago in India, a video of a woman repeatedly slapping a cab driver went viral. The woman came in front of his car when the traffic light was green. The driver immediately hit the brakes. Despite his countless apologies, she  pushed against his car and went on to slap him 20 times. The police locked him up without listening to him and confiscated his cab.

“Now I am forced to live a life of oblivion. Can't show anyone my face. I could not see my family members. I am living separately.” ~ Saadat Ali, the cab driver.

Now I ask you to imagine the same situation but if it were a man slapping a woman and not the other way around. The man would surely be locked up in the blink of an eye; society would put a black mark on his existence. And rightfully so. But the question arises: why did the consequences change so drastically with the change of gender?

I would like to also remind you that this is a minority of the population. But the proportion fails to justify the action. Are we really developing, or just unknowingly heading back into our old ancestral ways- only with a role reversal this time?

I urge you to think about what is wrong and what is  right; to take a stand for feminism, but not by compromising the rights of the male population. We are all humans of the same blood. We all deserve freedom, self-respect and dignity. Just as equality means equality in opportunity and achievements, it means equality in the court of law and consequences.

That is all, I do hope you have a good day/night!
